What is it?
One of the most used fitness supplement out there. Proteins are the main building blocks of the human body.
Whey protein and its effects have been researched extensively and many findings report that it helps you increase strength, gain muscle and lose significant amounts of body fat.
Whey protein is a mixture of proteins isolated from whey. Whey is the liquid part of milk that separates during cheese production.
On its own whey protein would be foul-tasting. So, manufacturers add chocolate, strawberry, and other flavourings to improve taste.
By taking a whey protein supplement it can add up to 25 grams + (depending on the individual brand) of protein to your diet.
Alongside a workout routine when protein will stimulate growth in the muscle fibres, helping them to repair and aiding muscle growth and gain.
Side effects:
Some people are allergic to whey – consuming too much protein may cause digestive issues such as nausea, flatulence, diarrhoea, pain and cramping.
